The Bureau of Customs (BOC) recognizes that the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) has potential significant impact on the operations of BOC in terms of risks related to exposures to external and internal stakeholders while physically transacting with the offices in the Bureau.
Considering the recently enforced Metro Manila community quarantine, all BOC stakeholders are encouraged to utilize the BOC Online Services such as BOC Portal and Goods Declaration Verification System that may be accessed through the official website of the Bureau (customs.gov.ph). Through the BOC portal, the stakeholder may communicate with all the offices in the Bureau of Customs for following-up of documents, renewal of accreditation, electronic submission of letter requests such as lifting of abandonment, among others. On the other hand, respective stakeholders may also refer to the GDVS to check the status of their entry or if they encounter any problems in their goods declaration.
The measure was implemented to facilitate trade while controlling the spread of virus along with alternative work arrangements, Bureau-wide disinfection, heightened health and safety measures.
The BOC emphasizes that the compliance in this regard will ensure delivery of public service with due observance of social distancing policy and other preventive health measures.
